German Club, Köln, to Give Cristiano Ronaldo Lifetime’s Supply Of Beer If He Joins. [See Report]

Wantaway Real Madrid legend, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been offered one of (if not the most ridiculous) contract term ever, after a lower league German football club jokingly offered him a lifetime’s supply of beer to sign for them.

Fortuna Köln, who play in the third tier, wrote on Twitter that they were looking for a new forward but could only pay through a local brew in place of the 32-year-old’s exorbitant wages.

‘Hey Cristiano, we’re still looking for a striker – we don’t have money, but we can offer you free Kölsch for life,’ the club wrote.

Ronaldo is unlikely to sign for the German third division club as he doesn’t drink.

‘I drink Red Bull while I buy my friends champagne at £1,000-plus a bottle,’ Ronaldo said in an interview in 2011.

‘It’s no problem – I like my friends to be happy.’

There is more personal, reason.

Ronaldo’s father Jose died of alcoholism when the footballer was in his late teens.

‘My father was funny when he was drunk, but I didn’t get to know him for real, from the heart and I don’t know why he drank, maybe he was frustrated with his life,’ he later said.

‘I wanted a different father, one who would be more present to see my achievements.’
