FLASH FICTION: CLASH OF PENS
A literary competiton for all lovers of thepen to showcase themselves and express the hidden stories they have been piling up in the dusty shelves of their minds.
HOW TO ENTER:
Everyone is free to submit an entry to qualify for the
competition, submissions should be a 250
word fiction with betrayal as its theme.
Entry fee is 500 naira only.

A Shortlist of Sixteen(16) writers would beannounced on the 20th of January 2017
based on the entries submitted ( make sureyour entry is very well written)
The clash of pens aims at bringing out thebest in writers by setting restrictions to
their writing. Word limits and Theme constrains writersto tell beautiful stories with limited words.
It is more than a competition, it is a workshop to learn more, grow more and….Write more.
The sixteen (16) shortlisted writers are grouped in fours i.e four(4) groups. The members of each group face each other in literary duels and the public get to vote to decide the winner.
After three rounds in the group stages, the top two from each group qualifies for the round of eight where they pair up against each other, the winner from each duel advance to the round of four and so on, till a winner emerges.
NOTE: The stories would be be posted anonymously on the host Facebook page
without the name of the writer, this is to avoid sentimental votes and bias.
The better story gets the vote, so you don’t get to know if you just voted against your best
friend until results are announced. SMART RIGHT? I KNOW.
You are only allowed to tag your friends under the comment section but NEVER
mention who you think wrote which story.
HOW TO VOTE:
Once the competition kicks off ere is howthe vote will be carried out.
Read the two stories, vote clearly the one
that resonates more with you based on the theme.
Do not guess who wrote which.
